Despite his rather cute, unassuming appearance, Wan-Tan should be taken very seriously. If he isn't properly perceived, he will make decisions himself that are very painful for those around him. He needs people who will relieve him of his responsibilities and accept that a muzzle is a mandatory companion during walks and when meeting strangers. He has difficulty tolerating close proximity to strangers and reacts disproportionately aggressively, meaning he will bite with the intention of causing harm. Wan-Tan is highly motivated to hunt and also reacts to environmental stimuli such as cars, cyclists, and passersby. He is social with other dogs, as long as the owner sets the rules. He enjoys riding in the car, can be left alone without any problems, and is cuddly and fun with his caregivers. Wan-Tan will not be adopted by children. Cats and small animals should not live in the same household.
