The almost 4-year-old male Levi is losing his home,
because people don't understand him and are now overwhelmed.
He is 73 cm tall at the shoulder and weighs approximately 37 kg. He is neutered.
Behavior towards people:
Levi is happy about every person who shows him affection. He is always very excited and hyper.
In this situation, he jumps and snaps at them and emphasizes this with loud vocalizations.
Behavior towards other dogs:
Here too, he shows a high level of tension and absolutely wants to go somewhere. He loves to run and play with other dogs all day long. Sympathy will certainly be crucial here.
Other Animals/Hunting Instinct:
Overall, Levi's attention is very outwardly focused. He has even had the opportunity to hunt rats, chickens, and birds. His success in hunting has further increased his motivation.
Basic Obedience/Leash Training
He knows all the usual commands. His leash training can be improved, as it is outwardly focused. The focus here is more on the lack of orientation towards people.
He's great at being left alone.
Driving in the car
Levi loves jumping into the car, barks briefly at first, but then lies down quietly.
Play/Learning Behavior:
Levi is an intelligent giant who opens doors and chicken coops when no one is looking. He is object-motivated, but this should definitely not encourage throwing games. Quiet concentration and search games would certainly be his passion.
Health and Care:
He was clipped by his owner and tolerates the grooming. He is very sensitive around his ears and in his field of vision. You can see it in one of the pictures, with a small injury under his eye.
Fears/Aggression:
Levi has many signs of an insecure Giant Schnauzer. He often shows signs of stress and then no longer responds to conversation. He lacks orientation towards people, but reacts very strongly to food, which has mutated into greedy and demanding behavior.
Our wishes for his new family:
Levi, the giant with a lot of potential, now needs people who can give him secure guidance. Who radiate calmness to relieve his tension. Who can learn and play with him to direct his intelligence in a friendly direction. In short:
Giant Schnauzer-understander, with house and garden, no other animals in the household.
