Our Rottweiler, Diego, has had several owners and is now, unfortunately, visiting us for the second time. He first ended up with us through no fault of his own due to a move. We quickly found a new home for this handsome fellow – unfortunately, not for good. His second owner couldn't assert himself and assert himself against Diego. Due to a lack of guidance, he asserted his own interests, even using his teeth. So Diego had to move in with us again. Diego knows all common basic commands and follows them reliably. He initially tests his limits with new walkers. With dog experience and the necessary consistency, Diego quickly submits and is a pleasant companion. He is generally very friendly and seeks contact with people. He enjoys being stroked and scratched extensively and also demands cuddles. Diego behaves exemplary in the car, in restaurants, and on public transport. Even longer car rides are no problem for him. Diego can certainly be left alone for a few hours, but we couldn't test this at the animal shelter. Diego gets along well with female dogs and most male dogs, but doesn't necessarily need a companion in his new home. We are therefore looking for an experienced and consistent dog owner for Diego who follows a clear approach to dog training. Like most Rottweilers, he is also very personable and will bond strongly with his new owner. A single owner would therefore be ideal. Due to the issues described above, adoption into a family with children is not an option.
